The Pecatu Surf Hotel will be built on a small plot of 450 meter square and will be accommodating 19 private rooms and 2 shared bunk-bed rooms. The brief also asked for communal areas, small pool, and common kitchen. The small plot caused us to go vertical and distribution of rooms and communal spaces are the opportunity to create dialogue between building and surrounding context. The architecture is about understanding the backpackers and surfer lifestyle. 25% of our floor space dedicated to communal areas for the guest to mingle and interact. Those spaces are represented in an organic curved shapes that is contrasting with the boxed backpacker rooms.
Role : Architect
  • Seek and share inspiration and reference to support creative design solutions;
  • Performs research and participates in project coordination and preparation;
  • Develop designs throughout all stages from feasibility studies to detail design, under project supervision;
  • Develop drawings, sketches, and 3d modeling to convey ideas and concepts;
  • Exploration of design options;
  • Assemble presentations using a variety of digital media, particularly Adobe InDesign.
