Greenwich House is designed to maximise a small plot of land of only 168m2 into a family home and an office for the client’s online business. To accommodate the two programs the house is designed to maximise floor ratio regulation of 200m2. As a result, the house is lacking of outdoor spaces and greeneries. To promote good air circulation and green spaces, we came up with a hanging garden design that wraps around the perimeter of second floor. The hanging garden are cantilevered and constructed out of stainless steel plates. These plates are perforated with different sizes of perforation. Small perforation are to allow natural lights and fresh air in. Big perforation to hold pot plants which replaces the green space that we lost. These hanging garden also creates a canopy at the carport area and increase privacy for the windows facing the street.
